LAUGH (2020) FEATURED ON BEN DRIVER'S GUY CRY CLUB

This silent short film was made using moving image recording made on a Sony Ericsson Cybershoot K800i in 2006 and moving image recording of a body of drawings made in 2019. 

Satirical cartoonist Martin Rowson has famously suggested: ‘There are terrible appalling things happening in the world all the time, and one of the ways we cope with it rather than topping ourselves or going mad is by laughing’.

Gay men often use humour to as a means to express as well as emotionally protect. My ambiguous facial expressions in this short film hover between laughing and crying framed by the unrelentless flashing LAUGH sign and the constantly evolving tensions in the juxtaposed drawn lines.
